Kansainvälinen toimisto kyselee ja herra R kirjoittelee

Tiedekunnan kansainvälinen toimisto on lähestynyt meitä opiskelijoita kahdella kyselyllä sekä matkaehdotuksella. Säilyttääkseni täydellisen luottamuksellisuuden, kirjoitan kyselyihin vastaukset tähän blogiin. Ainoastaan oikeutetuilla henkilöillä on oikeus lukea eteenpäin.

Kysely viime lauantain kansainvälisestä tapahtumasta

Toimisto pyysi antamaan avointa palautetta sähköpostilla. Alla kopio omasta vastauksestani.

"Next time please try to give some briefing for us, international students, beforehand about what procedures your students must do before going abroad.

For example:
- how the course validation works? Do they validate courses at foreign university before or after the course work?
- can they select any course they like following the regulations of Russian universities?
- do they get any allowance or grant when going abroad?

The more understanding we would have on their situation, the more relevant information we would be able to provide them on the spot.

And then next time, please let us know in more detail, what is expected of us. This time I really thought, that we will RECEIVE information, and not that we will PROVIDE it. If I knew this, I would have requested my home university, LUT, to send more information, presentation slides etc.

But all in all, I found the event very pleasant."

Alla oleva viesti tuli sähköpostilla samaisesta toimistosta. Olen kirjoittanut omat vastaukseni viestin sisään.

Did you like the balance between cultural and “business” components?:
I would have preferred to spend more time on cultural events. Even a visit to some theatre, opera or ballet would have been nice. Business excursions were a bit out of place. I understand that your business partners want to promote their companies and products, but that could be done later.

Was this week really useful for you?:
Yes it was. When I have discussed with other students who arrived after the orientation week, they seem to be a bit lost.

Was it what you expected? What would you add?:
This is more or less what I expected. One might add a trip or two to some big supermarkets together. There are some basic utensils everyone most purchase, such as pots, knives and glasses. This way we would learn where those shops are while getting the products.

Have you already undertaken such courses anywhere? What was better there?:
Yes I have, and your's was better.

Would you recommend participation in IW to prospective exchange students coming to GSOM?:
Definitely I would.

Ystäväni herra R on aloittanut oman bloginsa kirjoittelun. (Tuossa virkkeessä on yksi virhe. Etsi se!) Hänkin tarkastelee elämää Pietarissa opiskelijan näkökulmasta. Blogi löytyy osoitteessa http://setback.net/nevskoeice/viewforum.php?f=2

Vastaus: Virkkeen virhe on kohdassa "ystäväni". Eihän minulla ole ystäviä. Aivan kuten ei herra R:lläkään. Tästä keskustelimmekin viimeksi salilla käydessämme. Yrittäjyys-kurssilla opiskelijoita oli pyydetty kirjottamaan essee aiheesta "Mitä on yrittäjyys ja miten minä sovin kuvaan?". Herra mainitsi omassa kirjoitelmassaan, että "hänen ystävänsä ovat asiasta xxx mieltä yyy". Samanlainen virhe kuin minullakin... :)

Jännittävää tarinaa
Yrittäjyys- kurssin pitäjän kohtalo on, asiasta puheenollen, mielenkiintoinen. Ensimmäinen luento piti kuulemma olla tämän viikon maanantaina. Opiskelijat olivat istuneet luentosalissa odottaen ameriikan lahjan maailmalle (kyllä, luennoitsijatar tulee Amerikan Yhdysvaltojen Piilaaksosta!) saapumista paikalle. 45 minuutin kuluttua heille tultiin kertomaan, että luennoitsijaa ei löydy mistään! Hän oli saapunut kaupunkiin edellisenä iltana ja kirjautunut hotelliin. Aamulla hän oli kadonnut eikä hotellin henkilökuntakaan tiedä missä hän on.
